The Truth About RV Paint (Gel Coat), Oxidation & Long-Term Protection
List of Services
-
Why RV's Shine FadesList Item 1
RVs are constantly exposed to the elements — sun, rain, road grime, and pollution all take a toll over time. Understanding how your RV’s exterior ages is key to protecting your investment and maintaining that like-new finish.
-
What is Oxidation?List Item 2
Oxidation is the chalky, faded look that appears when UV rays and oxygen degrade your RV's gel coat or paint. Without proper care, this damage worsens year after year.
-
The Effects of UV & Environmental ExposureList Item 3
Prolonged sun exposure causes fading, cracking, and drying of your RV’s surface. Combine that with acid rain, bird droppings, sap, and hard water, and you’ve got a recipe for costly damage if left untreated.
-
Wax vs. Ceramic CoatingList Item 4
Traditional waxes wear off in weeks. Our ceramic coating bonds to your RV’s surface, creating a hard shell that resists oxidation, UV rays, water spots, and contaminants — lasting for up to 3 years with minimal maintenance.
-
Why Buffing & Wet Sanding are Essential
Buffing and wet sanding safely remove oxidation, scratches, and surface imperfections to restore shine and prepare your RV for long-term protection. Wet sanding is often needed for heavily oxidized or damaged surfaces before buffing can be effective. Both steps are crucial before applying any sealant or ceramic coating — especially for older or neglected RVs.
